Range Rover celebrates the Wimbledon Championships with a bang

JLR Korea held an event at the British Embassy in Seoul on 12 July to celebrate the official partnership between luxury SUV brand Range Rover and the world's most prestigious tennis tournament, The Championships, Wimbledon.

Range Rover, the world's leading luxury SUV brand, which has led the industry with ingenuity and pioneering design since 1970, has been an official partner of the Wimbledon Championships, a prestigious tennis tournament watched by millions around the world, since this year.

At the 2024 Wimbledon Championships, which took place from 1-14 July, Range Rover provided a fleet of vehicles for the players, teams and officials, including the new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) models to help minimise emissions and support Wimbledon's goal of operating carbon neutral. The Range Rover PHEVs will use on-site charging facilities during the tournament to maximise their electric driving capabilities, adding to Wimbledon's commitment to going green. The Range Rover and Range Rover Sport PHEV models that served as Wimbledon's official motorcade will be available in the UK next month.

The event was held at the British Embassy in Seoul's Jung-gu district to celebrate the collaboration between Range Rover, the UK's leading modern luxury brand, and the Wimbledon Championships, the country's most prestigious sporting event. To embody the tradition and culture of the historic Wimbledon tournament, the event space was decorated with the iconic colours of white, purple and green, including photo zones and floral arrangements. In addition to the traditional white dress code concept, participants were treated to an abundance of Wimbledon's iconic strawberry cream desserts and champagne to create a unique cultural experience.

To celebrate the unique collaboration between Range Rover and Wimbledon, Range Rover customers attended the Wimbledon Championships men's singles semi-final match and enjoyed the magic of tennis. The match was preceded by a one-point lesson with former national tennis player Lee Hyung-Taek Lee, who provided quality coaching tailored to the individual needs of beginners and experienced players alike. In addition, a dinner, a live performance by a DJ with a house concept, and a lucky draw event were organised for the guests.

At the event, JLR Korea also showcased the Range Rover SV, which sets a new benchmark for modern luxury with the finest materials and innovative technology, and the performance flagship Range Rover Sport SV Edition One, which combines sporty luxury with innovative performance.

Robin Colgan, Managing Director of JLR Korea, said: "We are delighted to celebrate the partnership between two of the UK's most iconic brands with a cultural event that showcases the uniqueness of British luxury. It was a great opportunity to share Range Rover's modern luxury storytelling experience and build relationships with our customers as they watched Wimbledon and enjoyed a diverse cultural programme at the beautiful British Embassy."
