Lotus will take part in the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2024 with its all-electric hyper GT Emeya and electric prototype hypercar Evija X.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is a world-renowned motoring festival held annually in June and July at Goodwood House in West Sussex, England. In addition to high-performance sports cars and supercars, there are F1 and WRC racing cars, prototype models and everything else for speed enthusiasts.
The Emeya, which will be on show at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, is an all-electric car that marks a new era for Lotus in luxury, high performance and cutting-edge technology. Joining the public is Evaya X, a prototype hypercar built for the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the world's most famous proving ground for high-performance cars. With its striking design and livery, and performance to match, it is sure to turn heads.
Emeya combines Lotus' design and engineering DNA with cutting-edge technology to set a new benchmark for what it means to drive an electric vehicle. It seamlessly combines Lotus' outstanding driving performance with world-class refinement, comfort, usability and connectivity to give drivers the ultimate grand tourer experience.
With a peak power output of 918 hp, the Emeya is also one of the fastest cars in the world, achieving a 0-62 mph acceleration time of 2.8 seconds and a 0-200 mph acceleration time of 9.0 seconds. What's more, its efficient and refined electrified powertrain provides the perfect balance of range, up to 610 km (WLTP).
The hypercar Evayla, on which Evayla X is based, generates a maximum power output of 2,039 hp and a maximum torque of 173.8 kg-m through four electric motors connected to all four wheels. It also boasts a 0-62mph acceleration time of less than 3.0 seconds and a top speed of more than 350km/h.
Developed exclusively for the track, Evoque X retains the electrified powertrain of the hypercar Evoque, but takes its performance to the extreme. The kerb weight of more than 1,800kg has been reduced to around 1,300kg, while Lotus' best aerodynamic technology has been used to create a massive downforce of up to 400kg. In this guise, Evaya X set a lap time of 6:24.047 on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the third fastest lap of any non-production car.
Emeya and Evaya X will take part in the Hill Climb, a highlight of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, giving spectators an unrivalled view of Lotus' unique dynamism and the performance of a pure electric car.
At the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2024, the Lotus stand will be located next to the First Glance Paddock and, in keeping with its motto of 'For the Drivers', will offer a number of amenities for Lotus owners. Alongside the Emeya and Evaya X, the Eletre and Emira will also be on display. Also on display will be the Type 72, the most accomplished F1 racecar of the 1970s, and the Type 136, a high-performance electric bicycle.
Simon Lane, Managing Director of Lotus Advanced Performance, said: "The Emeya and Evaya X, which will be on display at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, showcase the engineering and design capabilities that make Lotus unique in terms of innovation and performance. "We hope that the hill climb driving of the two hypercars, as well as the wide range of cars on display, will allow visitors to see the luxury character of Lotus and our vision for the motorised future."
