Renault Korea, together with the Renault Group, the Seoul Centre for Creative Economy and Innovation and the Korea International Trade Association, will host the '2024 Startup Open Stage' to recruit promising startups for future vehicle technology collaboration.
The 2024 Startup Open Stage will consist of a domestic track organised by Renault Korea and the Seoul Centre for Creative Economy and Innovation, and a global track organised by the Renault Group and the Korea International Trade Association. Applications are open until the 1st of next month for two categories: 'In-car User eXperience', which develops content using the in-car infotainment system, and 'In-car Gaming', which develops gaming content or related hardware/software platforms.
Last year, Renault Korea also hosted the Startup Open Stage and conducted a technology collaboration with DreamAce, which was selected as the best startup. Together, they developed a next-generation infotainment service for the openR panoramic screen in the Grand Koleos.
This year's Startup Open Stage will also be used to discover and collaborate with promising startups on innovative technologies and ideas for future vehicles such as hybrid and electric vehicles that Renault Korea is preparing.
Following a feasibility and suitability review, the selected startups will have the opportunity to apply their technologies to Renault Korea's upcoming new vehicles through a collaboration agreement. The selected companies will also receive support in the form of a proof of concept (PoC), business meetings with relevant Renault Korea departments, and on-the-job mentoring.
If selected as a Renault Group item in the Global Track, they will also receive support in accessing global markets. The Renault Group's Open Innovation team identifies innovative items from global start-ups, organises and manages collaborations, and provides opportunities for technology validation reviews at Renault Group level.

The 2024 Startup Open Stage is open to both startups and SMEs with relevant technologies. Applications for the domestic track can be made through the Seoul Creative Economy Innovation Centre's Startup Open Stage Meetup website, and for the global track through the Korea International Trade Association's InnoBranch website, with multiple applications allowed.
