Bentley Motors will make the world premiere of the fourth-generation The New Continental GT with a hybrid powertrain at the end of June.
Bentley Motors' best-selling Continental GT will be the first car in the brand's history to feature a next-generation hybrid powertrain for its upcoming fourth generation. Recognised as the greatest grand tourer in luxury car history, the purely internal combustion engine model will remain in production until 2024.
The fourth-generation Continental GT's ultra-performance hybrid system delivers a staggering 782bhp and 102.04kg-m of peak torque, enabling a range of 80km on pure electricity alone. And with CO2 emissions as low as 50 g/km WLTP, it is the most sustainable road-going model in Bentley's 105-year history.
The New Continental GT will also feature the latest generation of chassis technology, including active all-wheel drive with torque vectoring, all-wheel steering, an electronic limited-slip differential, 48-volt active anti-roll control system 'Bentley Dynamic Ride' and new dual-valve dampers.
Introduced in 2002, the Continental GT marked the beginning of a new era for Bentley. The Continental GT has driven the brand's rapid growth and redefined Bentley for the 21st century. Within four years of its creation, the car had taken the Bentley brand from 1,000 to 10,000 cars per year.
The second-generation Continental GT was introduced in 2010, followed by a new line-up of V8 4.0L engines that were more compact and powerful than the W12, and the third-generation Continental GT, introduced in 2018, set the benchmark for luxury grand tourers with a new platform, engines, architecture and technology.
