Polestar will launch the Polestar 4, an electric performance SUV coupé, in Korea this June. The Polestar 4 will be the second new vehicle to be introduced in Korea after the Polestar 2, and the company aims to start delivering vehicles to customers in October.
The Polestar 4 is a new class of SUV coupe that combines the sleek styling of a coupe with the space benefits of an SUV for maximum aerodynamics. The Polestar 4 is positioned between the Polestar 2 and Polestar 3 in terms of size and price.
"Polestar 4 is a so-called 'hexagonal premium electric vehicle' with outstanding product features in terms of design, performance, sustainability, safety, space, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)," said Jong-sung Ham, CEO of Polestar Korea. "We are accelerating preparations for certification and other preparations, and will do our best to target a June launch and October delivery."
The Polestar 4 is a generously sized D-segment SUV coupe with a length of 4,839 mm, a width of 2,139 mm, a ground clearance of 1,544 mm and a wheelbase of 2,999 mm, based on the SEA platform (Sustainable Experience Architecture) dedicated to electric vehicles. The bold design and innovative engineering that eliminates the rear window creates a generous second-row space while maintaining the coupe's sleek silhouette. A camera system provides excellent rearward visibility, while the introduction of dual-blade headlights defines Polestar's new design identity.
The Polestar 4 is the fastest production car Polestar has ever developed, with up to 400 kilowatts (544 hp) of power to propel it from rest to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds (long-range dual-motor). It is powered by a 100-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery and is targeting a range of up to 610 kilometres (Long Range Single Motor) on the WLTP.
The Polestar 4 emits 19.4 tonnes of greenhouse gases during production (for a long-range single motor), the lowest carbon footprint of any model Polestar has ever produced.
Meanwhile, the Polestar 4 will be available at four 'Polestar Spaces' nationwide when it launches in June. Exact specifications and pricing, including range per charge and battery, will be revealed at launch.
