Lexus Korea is celebrating the 100,000th domestic sales milestone of its best-selling model, the ES, with a variety of customer appreciation events to show its gratitude to its customers.
The ES was first introduced to the Korean market in 2001 with the fourth-generation ES 330, and the following year, in 2002, it became the best-selling imported model in Korea for two consecutive years. In 2006, the ES 350, the fifth-generation model with Lexus' design philosophy of L-finesse, was introduced to the market.
In 2012, the sixth-generation ES, which first featured Lexus' new design language 'Spindle Grille', was introduced in Korea as the premium hybrid sedan ES 300h, and since then, it has been the best-selling hybrid car in the imported hybrid segment for nine consecutive years until 2022.
The seventh-generation ES, now on sale, was launched in 2018 and has been named 2020 Car of the Year for the fourth consecutive year by ConsumerInsight, an automotive research firm, in its annual Car Planning Survey. As an icon and best-selling premium hybrid sedan, Lexus ES has become the world's best-selling premium hybrid sedan, and as of May, it has surpassed 100,000 cumulative domestic sales of its combined petrol and hybrid powertrain.
Lexus Korea will hold various customer appreciation events to celebrate the 100,000th domestic sales of ES. From June 18 to July 21, official showrooms across the country will hold test drives of all Lexus vehicles, including the ES, and service centres will host events for customers to add new friends to the Lexus KakaoTalk channel. In addition, from 18 June to 9 July, the official Lexus website and social media channels will host an ES-related 'Memory Sharing Event', and all customers who participate in the event will receive various prizes through a lottery.
"We are very pleased that our best-selling model, the ES, has reached 100,000 cumulative sales in Korea and thank our customers for their unwavering support," said Dae-hwan Kang, Vice President of Lexus Korea. "We will continue to pursue 'Authentic Luxury' and deliver the value of a timeless luxury lifestyle in Korea through a variety of electrified models and the best customer satisfaction services."
