Lotus Motor Corporation Korea supported Eletre and Emira on SBS's 'The Magic Star' to share the appeal of the Lotus brand and models with viewers.
SBS The Magic Star is Korea's first global magic audition programme featuring world-class magicians. Hosted by MC Jeon Hyun-moo, the show featured a panel of magicians including Han Hye-jin, Jin Seon-kyu, and Jang Hang-joon. The show got off to a great start with a peak viewership of 41 TP3T in its first broadcast, and it also proved its topicality by achieving the number one spot on Coupang Play, an OTT platform.
On the final episode of The Magic Star, which aired on July 20 at 5 p.m., a group of renowned magicians, including Park Joon-woo, Yoo Ho-jin, Darcy Oak, Patrick Kuhn, Han Seol-hee, Eden, and DK, appeared alongside Eletra and Emira, attracting the attention of viewers. In particular, the magic tricks performed by the seven magicians surrounding the two characters were well balanced with the magical charm of Eletra and Emira. In the subsequent live audition, Yoo Ho Jin won the competition and was crowned the first Magic Star. The ratings for the final episode surpassed its own record, reaching up to 51 TP3T per minute.
ELETRA is Lotus' first SUV and all-electric hypercar. It is an all-new lifestyle car that reflects the core principles and know-how that Lotus has honed over 75 years of sports car design and engineering. This makes it the most advanced Lotus ever, combining comfort, performance, cutting-edge luxury design and sustainability.
Elétra will be available in two trim levels in Korea. Powered by a 112-kilowatt-hour (kWh) lithium-ion battery, the Elétra S delivers 612 horsepower and the Elétra R delivers 918 horsepower, delivering the essence of the Lotus brand. Regardless of trim, customers will benefit from advanced battery charging technology that allows the battery to be rapidly charged from 10% to 80% in 20 minutes and a range of up to 120 kilometres (WLTP) with a five-minute charge.
The Emira follows in the footsteps of Lotus' existing line of lightweight mid-size sports cars, including the Elise, Exige and Evora, and is the last internal combustion engine product from Lotus. The powertrain offers two engines: a straight-four 2.0-litre petrol turbo and a V6 3.5-litre petrol supercharged engine, with peak outputs of 364 and 405 hp respectively.
In addition, Lotus Korea is consolidating its position in the domestic mid-size sports car market with convenience features such as a 12.3-inch digital cockpit and a 10.25-inch centre display, in line with its motto of 'For the Drivers'. Lotus Korea plans to launch new cars such as the Elektra and Emira in the second half of this year and actively conduct related marketing.
Meanwhile, Lotus Motor Korea will hold a social media event related to The Magic Star from 22nd to 24th of this month. Those who follow Lotus Motor Korea's official Instagram account and complete the quiz will be entered into a draw to win a LEGO Speed Champion Ebaiya, BBQ Golden Olive Chicken Set, and a KRW 10,000 gift card to Olive Young. Winners will be announced individually on the 26th of this month.
