Jeep is introducing three Gladiator Heritage Editions in Korea, limited to 30 units, that reflect the brand's rich history as a military vehicle that is a big part of its identity.
The Gladiator Heritage Edition is the second military series developed by Jeep following the popularity of the Gladiator Army Star Package, which was launched in May and has since sold out, and features three decal designs evoking the U.S. land, sea and air forces.
Jeep's heritage is as much about the military as it is about Jeep itself, as the brand traces its roots back to U.S. military vehicles built during World War II. In honour of its military roots, Jeep has continued to pay tribute to the spirit of the military, including special offers for veterans during Veterans Month in June and a collaboration with military watch brand Marathon to launch the Jeep x Marathon watch collection.
The Gladiator Heritage Edition is characterised by a wide range of Army, Navy and Air Force themed decals to give customers even more choice. The Army, Navy and Air decals are particularly significant as they were created exclusively for Korean customers in collaboration with Korean designer Ki-Seok Yoon, who is also responsible for the exterior design of the Jeep Corolla and Stellantis IAP (Indo-Asia-Pacific), and are unique designs for which trademark applications are currently pending in Korea.
The Army Pack and Navy Pack are based on the black Gladiator Rubicon model, while the Air Force Pack with Air Force-themed decals is based on the Hydro Blue colour scheme. Jeep-style interpretations of each military emblem are applied to the hood, side doors and rear truck bed. Each decal design also features an 'Easter Egg' in Jeep's unique design language, with no detail overlooked.
Adding to the value of the Heritage Edition are four genuine Jeep accessories and three pieces of merchandise, totalling more than $3 million worth of benefits shared by all three Heritage models. The four accessories include Auto Power Side Steps, a matte Satin Black grille, a set of attachable storage bags called MOLLE (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) Bags, and all-seat grab handles. The Jeep Gladiator also comes with three pieces of military-value merchandise, including a Jeep Military Assortment Set, which includes a Jeep Gladiator tumbler, engraving service and military ID tag (service stripe).
The Gladiator Rubicon on which this edition is based is a pick-up model that builds on Jeep's rich heritage, including its unrivalled 4×4 capability. Powered by a V6 3.6L PENTASTAR® petrol engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, it produces 284 hp and 36 kg-m of peak torque, and offers a spacious 1,005-litre cargo capacity that is unique for a pickup truck.
For Jeep enthusiasts who revere the brand's history and heritage, the three Gladiator Heritage Edition models are priced at $79.9 million, the same as the existing Gladiator Rubicon.
"Jeep is a brand whose identity has been forged in the fierce battlefields with soldiers, and the Gladiator Heritage Edition is a modern interpretation of the rich heritage that runs through the brand's past and present," said Mr. Bangsil, President of Stellantis Korea. "We hope it will be a meaningful gift for those who understand the brand's history and share its values."
