Jeep is entering the electric SUV market with the unveiling of the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S Launch Edition (Wagoneer S), a premium all-electric SUV.
The Wagoneer S is a premium all-electric SUV with a range of up to 483 kilometres (North America) on a single charge and is a key addition to Jeep's legendary SUV line-up. With its 4×4 system, Selec-Terrain® terrain setting system, 600 horsepower and 85.3 lb-ft of peak torque, and a 0-60 mph time of 3.4 seconds, the Wagoneer S is a powerful performer. It combines the benefits of an electric vehicle with the all-weather capability and traction to tackle any environment.
The Wagoneer S is built on Stellantis' new dedicated electric vehicle platform, the STLA Large. Jeep has modified several configurations of the STLA Large platform for the Wagoneer S, including length, wheelbase, suspension and powertrain. Body torsional rigidity has been improved by 351 TP3T compared to the previous Jeep mid-size SUV, while noise and vibration have been reduced to improve cabin quietness and ride comfort.
At the intersection of Jeep's heritage and technological innovation, the Wagoneer S boasts a distinctive exterior design with luxurious styling and sophistication. The unveiling showcases the brand's reimagined direction for the age of electrification, with balanced proportions, aerodynamic design and the latest 4xe technology.
At the front, a redesigned seven-slot grille features ambient cast LED lights that automatically illuminate as you approach the car. Dark colour accents throughout add to the elegance of the car, with design details including Gloss Black and Dark Grey. To maximise performance while maintaining a sleek and luxurious look, the car has undergone a rigorous development process to ensure optimal aerodynamics, achieving the lowest drag coefficient of Cd 0.29 in the brand's history.
Inside, the latest technology enhances driving comfort. More than 45 inches of class-leading screen space and a class-exclusive 10.25-inch interactive passenger screen maximise the driving experience. In the driver's seat, controls and interfaces are digitally operated and include a redesigned 12.3-inch cluster based on customer feedback to enhance driver comfort, including a first for the Jeep brand with electronic door release, allowing doors to open with a single light touch.
The infotainment system delivers the ultimate user experience (UX). With improved responsiveness and visibility over the previous generation, the Uconnect 5® system connects to a 12.3-inch centre display and 10.25-inch interactive passenger screen and supports over-the-air updates (OTA). Jeep's connected service, JEEP CONNECT, also provides detailed information such as battery level and range based on charge status.
In addition, the premium SUV's cabin details and luxurious finishes are crafted to give it a premium feel. The dark interior is accented with red wine-coloured stitching, while heated and ventilated rear seats, customisable LED lighting with day/night settings and ambient lighting with 64 colour options are standard to ensure you enjoy your journey in comfort and style. The premium audio brand's McIntosh sound system is also featured throughout the cabin, delivering immersive sound from 19 speakers, including a 12-inch subwoofer.
The powertrain features a 400V, 100-kWh high-capacity battery pack for quick and easy charging for customers. It can be charged from 20% to 80% in 23 minutes using a DC quick charger.
It also has more than 170 advanced safety and convenience features to assist drivers. These include Active Driving Assist, Intersection Collision Assist, Drowsy Driver Detection, Traffic Sign Recognition, Surround View Camera, and more.
The Wagoneer S will be available first in the US and Canada this autumn, before expanding to markets around the world.
