Volkswagen Korea is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its iconic hatchback model, the Golf, with a photo competition for Golf owners.
The photo contest is designed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Golf and provide an opportunity for owners in Korea to reflect on the memories they have made with the Golf. The winning photos and owner stories will be included in the Volkswagen Golf 50th Anniversary History Book (tentative title) produced by Volkswagen Korea.
The Volkswagen Golf is an iconic hatchback that was first launched in 1974 and has evolved through eight generations over the past 50 years. It has long been one of Volkswagen's best-selling models around the world, thanks to its combination of refinement, practicality and solid driving performance.
In Korea, the fifth-generation Golf has been a hit with customers seeking a European lifestyle since its official launch, sparking a hatchback craze. In particular, the Golf became the first imported compact hatchback to surpass 50,000 units in Korea in March, proving its popularity across all generations and tastes.
The contest will run from 29 July to 9 August 2024 and is open to current Golf owners as well as those who have owned a Volkswagen Golf in the past. Those who wish to participate in the contest can submit a great photo of their Golf and the story behind it via the event link in the official Naver post on Volkswagen Korea.
The winning photo will be published with a story in the Volkswagen Korea Golf 50th Anniversary History Book (tentative title) to be released in September, and the selected owner will receive a die-cast Golf GTI minicar as a gift.
There will also be a social media competition during the competition period. Golf owners who post a photo on their personal Instagram account with the hashtag #MyVWGolf will be selected at random to win a Helinox camping chair (*prizes subject to availability).
