Tesla Korea officially launches new Model 3 with '488km' range in the country

Tesla Korea has officially launched the all-new Model 3 in Korea and is now accepting orders. Five years after its first Korean launch in 2019, the Model 3 has received significant design and feature enhancements to make it even more user-friendly.

The new Model 3 will be available in two trims in Korea: Rear-wheel drive RWD and all-wheel drive Long Range. The RWD model is affordable, while the Long Range is optimised for long journeys, so you can choose according to your preferences and driving conditions.

The Long Range has a range of up to 488 kilometres according to Korean certification, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration of 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 200 km/h. In particular, the ride comfort has been greatly improved compared to the previous model, making it feel like a luxury sedan.

The exterior design has also been significantly improved. Thanks to its aerodynamically optimised body lines, the new Model 3 has the lowest drag coefficient of any Tesla model. The unique wingline headlights enhance visibility while driving, while the integrated taillamps and Tesla logo at the rear of the body emphasise Model 3's sleek design.

The interior design has also undergone significant changes. A wrap-around design and Tesla's first-ever ambient lighting provide a sense of comfort. Like the flagship Model S and Model X, the new Model 3 replaces the gear lever with steering wheel and display controls for a cleaner, more convenient driving experience. In addition, a second-row display in the rear seats provides air volume and speed control, as well as entertainment features.

It is priced at KRW 51.9 million for the RWD and KRW 59.9 million for the Long Range, with subsidies available to make it even more affordable. Orders can be placed on the Tesla website and test drives are available at Tesla Stores nationwide (Sinsa, Yeouido, Hanam, Bundang, Daegu, Busan, Jeju). Deliveries are expected in the second quarter of 2024.

Alongside the launch of the Model 3, Tesla Korea is also introducing the Model Y Long Range and Performance trims. The arrival of all Tesla's S, 3, X and Y models in the Korean market in about 10 months since July last year is expected to provide consumers with more choice.
