Volvo Cars Korea celebrates Earth Day with one-hour lights-out campaign

Volvo Cars Korea is celebrating the 54th Earth Day with a lights-out campaign at Volvo Cars Korea dealerships and service centres nationwide.

Earth Day, now in its 54th year, is an international celebration held annually on 22 April to raise awareness of the importance of protecting the Earth's ecosystems and the seriousness of environmental pollution.

To celebrate Earth Day, Volvo Cars Korea will switch off all indoor and outdoor lighting, except for essential lighting, at its showrooms and service centres nationwide, including its corporate offices, from 20:00 on 22 April. The official switch-off time is 10 minutes, but Volvo Cars Korea will be switching off for one hour to show its commitment.

"We are pleased to join the lights-out campaign on Earth Day to raise awareness of the importance of protecting the environment and ensuring the safety of our planet," said Yoon Mo Lee, CEO of Volvo Cars Korea. "Volvo Cars Korea will continue to actively implement various eco-friendly activities to ensure a sustainable future."

Meanwhile, Volvo Cars Korea is engaged in various eco-friendly activities in line with its global roadmap to become a fully carbon-neutral company by 2040. Since 2019, the company has held the annual Hej Plogging, an eco-friendly campaign to pick up litter while running, and in March, the company participated in Earth Hour, a global nature conservation campaign.
