Lamborghini Seoul to compete in Super Trofeo for second consecutive year under the Taegeuk flag

Lamborghini Seoul will participate in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia Race for the second consecutive year with Lee Chang-woo. Lamborghini Seoul held a signing ceremony at the Lamborghini Seoul showroom on 25th May to announce Lee Chang Woo as the official driver of the 2024 Super Trofeo Asia Race.

Now in its 11th year, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo is a racing tournament that takes place across three continents - Europe, North America and Asia. It is a one-make race, with competitors racing the Lamborghini Uracán Super Trofeo Evo2 single-seater. Last year, the 2023 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia race returned to South Korea for the first time in three years following the Covid-19 pandemic, attracting many Lamborghini and motorsport fans in the country.

Gritmotorsport's Lee Chang-woo competed in all seasons of the Super Trofeo in 2023 under the Taegeum mark, and rewarded his Korean fans with a victory in Race 1 of the AM class at the Inje Stadium in Round 4, despite his first start. This year, Changwoo will be racing alone and is keen to build on the know-how he gained from his first outing last year and continue to train and develop to achieve his best results this year.

The race car, the Uracan Super Trofeo Evo, is powered by a V10 5.2L naturally aspirated engine that produces a peak power output of 620 horsepower, while its excellent aerodynamic design creates maximum downforce. Unlike other races, where the performance of the car is dependent on the performance of the driver, a one-make race is all about the driver's skill.

Chang-woo is a professional Korean driver competing in the Superleague GT class and is a veteran of several podium finishes, having represented Korea in the Super Trofeo for the first time last year, finishing runner-up in the season. He has also been a long-standing partner of the Lamborghini Driving Experience in Korea and Chief Instructor at various Lamborghini organised events.

"Lamborghini Seoul is ready for more great things on the world stage with this second challenge with Lee Chang-woo," said Kim Jong-bok, Managing Director of Lamborghini Seoul. "We will continue to share the values of Lamborghini Seoul, such as the Super Trofeo, with our customers and the many Korean fans who love the Lamborghini brand."

The Super Trofeo, meanwhile, consists of six rounds per continent and is organised in four classes: Pro, Pro-Am, Amateur and Lamborghini Cup. The Lamborghini Grand Final, which takes place after the Asian, European and North American championships have been finalised, brings together the winning drivers from each continent for the final race. The fourth round of the Asian Series will take place from Friday 19 to Sunday 21 July at the Inze Speedway.
