Mercedes-Benz Korea Launches AMG G 63 Grand Edition Limited to 44 Units in Korea

Mercedes-Benz Korea is launching a limited edition model of the AMG G 63, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 Grand Edition.

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class has been a legendary on- and off-roader for more than 40 years since its introduction in 1979, thanks to its robust boxy design and powerful driving performance. Its status as a successful off-roader was further strengthened in 2002 with the introduction of the high-performance Mercedes-AMG G 63.

The G 63 Grand Edition is a rare model that combines the existing G 63 model with new MANUFAKTUR interior and exterior colours and materials in contrasting black and gold. Limited to 1,000 units worldwide, only 44 units will be sold in Korea.

"The G 63 Grand Edition combines the classic appeal of the G-Class, the dynamism of AMG and the uniqueness of the Manupaktur," said Kilian Thelen, Head of Product, Marketing and Digital Business Unit, Mercedes-Benz Cars Korea. "The G 63 Grand Edition will once again reinforce the G-Class' unrivalled status as an off-roader."

The exterior is painted in matte black Manoufaktur, with gold AMG Grand Edition film at the bottom of the side doors creating a strong visual contrast. For the first time, the AMG logo and the Mercedes-Benz triangular star logo are also in gold, as are the 22-inch AMG forged wheels, the Affalterbach emblem on the bonnet and the rear spare wheel rim.

The AMG Night Package also features black exterior details to emphasise its sportiness. The AMG-specific radiator grille, headlamps, turn signals, side mirrors and under guards are also finished in black to emphasise the dynamism.

Inside, the black and gold colour scheme is equally striking. For starters, G Manufaktur Nappa leather seats in black to match the exterior colour scheme add a special touch. Details such as gold stitching throughout and the 'Grand Edition' badge trim moulding add to the intense and luxurious ambience. The AMG Performance steering wheel in DINAMICA microfibre and AMG carbon trim throughout the cabin further emphasise the dynamism and luxury of AMG.

Deliveries of the Mercedes-AMG G 63 Grand Edition will begin this month and will be priced at £29.7 million including VAT. It will be available for consultation and purchase at 64 authorised Mercedes-Benz dealerships nationwide.
