Volkswagen Korea also officially launched the Golf GTI, a high-performance model with the innovative DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox) dual-clutch transmission and high-powered engine, in Korea, bringing a more dynamic experience to Korean customers. The Golf GTI has helped popularise high-performance cars in the Korean market with its outstanding performance.
The Golf's popularity in the Korean market is largely due to its affordable price and maintenance costs, class-leading technology, and the high level of driving performance of an authentic German hatchback. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Golf and its 50,000th domestic sales milestone, Volkswagen Korea plans to launch a variety of marketing activities this year to encourage more customers to discover the Golf's appeal.
