Volkswagen joins action blockbuster series 'Godzilla X Kong: New Empire'

Volkswagen has teamed up with Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment for the new action blockbuster from the Monsterverse, Godzilla X Kong: New Empire. Volkswagen's all-electric SUV ID.4 will be featured in the film as part of the new cast.

<Godzilla X Kong: New Empire is an action blockbuster that brings together the ultimate team-up between Godzilla and Kong to face an unimaginable threat. The trailer, released in December last year, has been viewed more than 100 million times and has garnered significant attention worldwide, with the film topping the list of foreign pre-orders ahead of its global premiere on 27 March.

With the sequel to 2021's Godzilla vs. Kong promising to be an upgraded version of the original, reuniting the cast and crew of the film, we're excited to see what the new Volkswagen ID.4 will look like in the film. The partnership with the film reinforces Volkswagen's commitment to global electrification by developing a series of short-form content together.

The ID.4, Volkswagen's first all-electric SUV, continues the company's 'car for everyone' pedigree in the age of electrification with an affordable purchase price, long range, high efficiency at high electricity costs and a generous list of advanced safety and comfort features. As a testament to its affordability and efficiency, the ID.4 received the largest subsidy for imported electric vehicles in Korea this year, even amidst the country's tightened subsidy policy.

As part of its new brand positioning, Volkswagen has also been actively partnering in the film industry. The ID. family line-up has been used to collaborate with the popular animated series Miraculous, which is available in more than 130 countries around the world, while Volkswagen's high-performance all-electric ID.4 GTX was featured as the family car of Scott Lang's family in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania, the third instalment of the Marvel superhero franchise.
