Toyota Korea Holds Good Dog Agility Competition for Dogs

Toyota Korea is holding the Toyota Correct Dog Agility Competition to promote the right dog culture and is looking for participants until the 26th of this month.

The contest is part of the Toyota Right Dog Campaign, which was launched last year to share the joy of bonding and interacting with dogs with both pet and non-pet owners. This year, the contest will be held on 18 May at the 2024 Megazoo Pet Industry Fair at KINTEX in Ilsan, and finalists will be notified individually in early May.

The competition will be divided into two categories: Beginner (50 teams) and Novice (50 teams) by completing the designated course in the fastest time. Teams that perform well in the Agility Competition will receive up to KRW 300,000 in prize money.

Prior to the competition, a Toyota Correct Dog Agility Class will also be held. In order to improve the health and training of your dog, as well as bonding with your dog, the class will be led by an agility expert who will conduct a variety of programmes, including: a dog temperament test and class assignment; basic and continuous obstacle practice; intermediate obstacle practice; training and acclimatisation time for the rules of the event; and practice on the event course. The Agility Class will be held every Saturday from 27 April for a total of three sessions, and participants in the Agility Class will receive priority entry into the competition. Participants can apply online through Toyota Korea's official website until 11 April, and 45 participants will be selected through a random lottery.

In addition, Toyota Korea will also select Right Dog Ambassadors to spread the right dog culture. Applications can be made via Instagram and there are a total of five positions available. The ambassadors, who can apply through an online form until 17 April, will perform twice-monthly missions for seven months from May to November, including pet etiquette content and activity challenges with their dogs.

"We have organised the Toyota Correct Dog Agility Competition again this year to help people form a healthy bond with their dogs," said Dae-hwan Kang, Vice President of Toyota Korea. "In a time when diverse lifestyles are being celebrated, we will continue to strive to establish the right dog culture so that both pet and non-pet owners can live in harmony together."

To promote the right dog culture, the festival will be held from 17 to 19 May, during the Megazoo Expo, and will feature a variety of interactive events for people to enjoy with their dogs.
