Hyundai Motor Company-Genesis has won a total of four main awards at the Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2024 on Wednesday (3 March).
Organised by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Germany, the Red Dot Award is one of the world's top three design awards and recognises outstanding design every year in the categories of Product Design, Brand and Communication Design, and Design Concept. The Design Concept category is judged on concepts, prototypes, and pre-launch product designs.
Hyundai's hydrogen-powered future mobility concepts, DICE (Digital Curated Experience) and SPACE (Spatial Curated Experience), which were first unveiled at CES 2024, won the award in the Autonomous category.
DICE is a personalised mobility that provides various services tailored to the user on one platform, providing a differentiated AI-based autonomous mobility experience. DICE is designed with Hyundai's unique vertical arch design to give users a sense of openness and cosiness at the same time.
SPACE, a public mobility vehicle that provides passengers with freedom of movement, offers optimised space and personalised seats for each passenger. The interior is equipped with advanced multimedia to provide a differentiated mobility experience where passengers can enjoy a variety of content on the go.
The Santa Fe XRT Concept was also awarded in the Transport Design (Cars and Motorcycles) category. The SANTA FE XRT Concept is based on the fifth-generation SANTA FE and is designed to take on the rugged terrain of the off-road. It features a number of features optimised for an outdoor lifestyle, including a cargo carrier on the roof rack, a ladder attached to the tailgate and a cargo box.
Genesis won the award in the Transport Design (Cars and Motorcycles) category for its NEOLUN concept, an ultra-large electric SUV. NEOLUN's unique design, with its message of 'beauty in simplicity', emphasises both luxury and innovation, demonstrating Genesis' forward-thinking values.
"This award is the result of Hyundai Motor Group's continuous efforts to ensure that Hyundai and Genesis provide customers with a differentiated experience," said a Hyundai Motor Group representative. "We will continue to showcase Hyundai Motor Group's vision of future mobility through detailed and creative design concepts."
