Hyundai Motor Company launched the Hyundai EV Charging Alliance (Alliance) with six private charging providers in Indonesia at the Gai Kindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2024 on Friday (19th May, local time). This will allow Hyundai EV customers to easily access charging facilities of other alliance members through the My Hyundai app without the need for membership registration or payment method registration.
Hyundai is the first company in Indonesia to introduce a roaming scheme that allows customers to freely use and pay for charging facilities from multiple providers through a single app. The seven companies involved in the alliance operate a total of 696 EV charging infrastructure at 429 locations in Indonesia, accounting for approximately 971 TP3T of private EV chargers in the country.
In addition, Hyundai is launching the EV Charging Service Programme, which will provide new EV customers with 50 kilowatt-hours of charging capacity per month for one year at Hyundai EV Charging Alliance member charging stations. The EV Charging Service Programme will be available from August.
"We signed the agreement to provide EV customers with the most convenient charging services," said a Hyundai Motor official. "As the leading EV market in Indonesia, we will do our best to ensure that our customers have easy access to our products, services and infrastructure."
Meanwhile, Hyundai is making various efforts to provide a better charging experience, including providing free home fast chargers to customers who purchase new EVs and partnering with local shopping malls to operate Indonesia's first ultra-fast charging facility.
