Volkswagen Korea is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its iconic hatchback model, the Golf, with a special merchandise set for Volkswagen owners.
The special merchandise giveaway was organised to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Volkswagen's best-selling model, the Golf, and to share special moments with customers who have loved the Golf for many years in Korea.
The Volkswagen Golf is an iconic hatchback that was first launched in 1974 and has evolved through eight generations over the past 50 years. It has long been a favourite in the global market thanks to its refinement, practicality and solid driving performance, and since its official launch in 2005 with Volkswagen Korea's entry into Korea, the Golf has been a hit in Korea, with more than 50,000 units sold.
The Golf's 50th anniversary special merchandise package includes a parking licence plate, commemorative postcard, car sticker and more.
Customers who visit their nearest Volkswagen showroom and present their car keys to prove they are a Volkswagen owner will receive a set of special goodies, and those who visit the showroom and complete a Golf test drive will also receive a commemorative goody bag (limited quantities, per location, while supplies last).
The offer will run for approximately two months, from 1 August to 30 September, and may end early if supplies last.
Meanwhile, Volkswagen Korea is also launching various marketing activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Golf. A digital out-of-home advertising campaign celebrating the Golf's 50th birthday has been running in key areas of Seoul, and a photo contest for Golf owners has been running since 29 July. In September, Volkswagen Golf 50th Anniversary History Book (tentative title) will be produced and distributed.
