The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N has become the first EV to be named the official car of Japan's Fuji Speedway circuit.
Fuji Speedway is located in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, and is a circuit that hosts international motorsport events such as F1. It is 4.56 kilometres long and features 16 corners.
Selected as the official car of the circuit, the IONIQ 5 N will be used as the lead car at the circuit for one year from 1 August this year to 31 July 2025. It will also be used for various purposes, including leading events organised by Fuji Speedway and as a racing taxi for customers visiting the circuit. The IONIQ 5 N is the first EV model under Hyundai's high-performance brand N, and has been on sale in the Japanese market since June 2024.
"The selection of the IONIQ 5 N as the official car of the circuit will allow more people to experience the driving performance of EV vehicles," said a Fuji Speedway official.
"We believe that customers visiting Fuji Speedway and motorsport fans in Japan will be able to feel the appeal of Hyundai's high-performance brand N and the Ioniq 5 N. With the Ioniq 5 N, we will provide driving pleasure and help Japanese customers become more familiar with EVs," said Wonsang Cho, President of HMJ.
