BMW Motorrad launches three new GS Series models for 2024

BMW Motorrad is introducing the new F 800 GS, F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure, the touring enduros of the middleweight F family. The new models follow on from the existing F 750 GS, F 850 GS and F 850 GS Adventure and offer riders pure riding pleasure with enhanced performance in line with their respective concepts.

The GS models in the new F family are equipped with the latest two-cylinder in-line engines to deliver dynamic driving performance. The engine displacement has been increased to 895 cc, with the new F 800 GS delivering a peak output of 87 hp and the new F 900 GS and the new F 900 GS Adventure 105 hp.

In particular, all models are equipped as standard with an adjustable gearshift lever that allows you to create the optimum riding position in different driving conditions. The F 800 GS models and F 900 GS Adventure are also equipped with Dynamic ESA, which intelligently and actively takes into account the road surface, driving conditions and even the rider's weight to electronically control safe and dynamic driving.

The new GS models offer two riding modes, 'Rain' and 'Road', and are equipped as standard with cornering-optimised ABS Pro, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Dynamic Brake Light and Ride Mode Pro. In particular, Ride Mode Pro offers additional riding modes, Ride Mode Presets, Engine Drag Torque Control and Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) for a more focused and dynamic driving experience.

The F 800 GS is the successor to the F 750 GS and takes on the name of the F 800 GS, which was the start of the F Series GS. A 6.5-inch display with connectivity features is standard, providing intuitive access to a wide range of driving information.

The low seat height of 830 mm makes it stable enough for beginners to enjoy riding, and it comes standard with equipment that increases safety and comfort, such as Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), hand guards and heated grips.

The F 900 GS represents the most significant change in the new GS series and has been completely redesigned to emphasise its enhanced off-road capabilities and sporty driving dynamics, while visually reflecting the changes to the lightweight bodywork.

The F 900 GS combines a concise, high front design in the style of a rally motorcycle with a slimmer rear frame for a more dynamic and upbeat appearance. The front-mounted LED headlights provide a wider beam of low beam illumination for better all-round visibility.

The ergonomic triangle (handlebar, seat, footrests) structure is optimised for off-road riding, while the low footrests, raised handlebar position and new design of the fuel tank provide a stable position in rough conditions where standing up is required.

To reduce body weight, a lightweight plastic fuel tank has been used to save around 4.5kg, while a new rear design, lighter swingarm and Akrapovic exhaust mufflers have been incorporated to bring the car's weight down to 219kg, a whopping 14kg less than the outgoing model.

Customers purchasing the F 900 GS can opt for the factory-optional Enduro Pro Package to further enhance its off-road capabilities. The Enduro Pro Package includes a sports frame, black handlebar risers and M endurance chain.

The F 900 GS Adventure has an even sportier design that enhances its appeal. The long side panels have been slimmed down to reflect the new GS logo. In addition to the 23-litre fuel tank capacity, it also comes with the Ride Pro Package as standard, which includes cruise control, keyless riding and additional LED headlights, optimising the configuration for longer journeys.

In addition to long-distance stability, the upside-down fork allows for easy adjustment of both spring preload and damper bounce and rebound for optimal performance tailored to the driving environment. The acceleration time from rest to 100 kilometres per hour is 3.7 seconds.

The three GS motorcycles will be available in Korea in 2024 with prices ranging from 17.3 million to 17.6 million won for the F 800 GS, 20 million to 20.6 million won for the F 900 GS and 24 million won for the F 900 GS Adventure, depending on trim and colour.
