GM Korea is providing emergency relief vehicles and employee volunteers to help restore areas affected by the recent torrential rains and return residents to normal life as soon as possible.
In a ceremony held at GM Korea's Bupyeong headquarters on 24 April, GM Korea President and CEO Hector Viarreal, Head of Communications and Chief Marketing Officer Myung Ok Yoon, Chairman of the Incheon Volunteer Centre Lee Dae-hyung, and employee volunteers attended to deliver the Chevrolet vehicles to the Incheon Volunteer Centre.
The Chevrolet Brigade emergency relief vehicles will be used to transport relief supplies to flooded areas and to help people recover from the damage and return to normal life. Chevrolet vehicles are expected to play a key role in emergency relief efforts, especially in delivering relief supplies to flooded areas and helping people get around, thanks to their safety, practicality and versatility.
In addition, GM also organised employee volunteer activities for the recovery of flooded areas. On the same day, more than 40 employee volunteers from GM Korea visited Seongdong-myeon, Nonsan-si, Chungcheongnam-do, which was severely damaged by heavy rainfall, to collect and clean up flooded crops, and actively volunteer for the rapid recovery and safety of residents.
"We hope the Chevrolet Brigade Emergency Relief Vehicles will help the areas affected by the flooding recover quickly and help the people affected get back to their lives as soon as possible," said Hector Villarreal, president of GM. "GM will continue to do more to support communities in need.
"We are pleased to receive GM's safe vehicles to help us in our recovery efforts in the flooded areas, and we will do our best to help local residents in need get back to their lives as quickly as possible," said Lee Dae-hyung, director of the Incheon Volunteer Centre. "We would also like to express our gratitude to GM employees for actively participating in volunteer activities such as visiting the flooded areas and supporting the affected farmers."
Meanwhile, GM is offering a cash for clunkers programme for customers affected by flooding through the end of the month. Customers who suffered flood damage due to severe rainfall can receive cash towards the purchase of a new Chevrolet and GMC brand vehicle with documentation from their insurance company or local government to prove the damage. Through the end of the year, Chevrolet is also offering a Water Damage Service Programme that allows customers with uninsured flooded vehicles to bring their vehicles into the Chevrolet service network nationwide and receive up to 501 TP3T towards the cost of repairs.
