KG Mobility (KGM) has confirmed the name ACTYON for its new SUV, which has been under development as the J120 (project name), and is now open for pre-booking.
KGM is kicking off its pre-booking campaign with the release of exterior images of the new Actyon, which is set to launch in August. The new Actyon is a sleek and dynamic coupe-style urban SUV that combines stylish design with the versatility of an SUV to revitalise the sluggish domestic market.
The new name Actyon signifies that KGM will continue to develop the challenging spirit of the first-generation Actyon, which made its debut in 2005 as the world's first Sports Utility Coupe (SUC) concept. It symbolises KGM's 70-year heritage as an SUV specialist, while also looking to the future with new beginnings and challenges.
The name of the first-generation ACTYON is a combination of 'Action' and 'Young', expressing a dynamic image of individuality, change, and challenge that goes beyond conventional SUVs with passion and challenge. The new ACTYON adds 'Act+Young' and 'Act+On' to the original meaning to signify 'acting young and initiating activities', signalling KGM's intention to lead a new beginning.
On the outside, it combines the rugged design of an SUV with the beautifully stylish silhouette of a coupé and urban, sporty design elements, representing a diverse development of KGM's design philosophy 'Powered by Toughness'.
The front and rear design is simple yet striking. The sides emphasise dynamic lines while maximising cargo space to provide a mid-size SUV-like interior for a wide range of lifestyle experiences.
Acteon is available for pre-order today (15th). Customers can visit any of the 270+ KGM dealerships nationwide or pre-order via the Acteon's dedicated site (www.kgm-actyon.co.kr), with official pre-sales set to begin in August. The first 50,000 pre-order customers will receive a coupon for a free Harley Davidson Americano.
