KG Mobility (KGM) Chairman Kwak Jae-sun is set to expand export volumes with an extensive global tour, including a conference with German dealers following his visit to Türkiye.
The conference, held at the Dorint Hotel Oberursel in Frankfurt's northern district of Oberursel, Germany, was attended by KGM Chairman Jae-Sun Kwak and CEO Ki-Young Hwang, as well as more than 170 dealers from 100 local companies.
The conference was organised to share and communicate with local dealers about KGM's export strategy, mid- to long-term product operation plans, and overall German market operation direction and strategy, including brand and marketing strategy and sales network, in line with the launch of the European sales subsidiary. At the conference, KGM proactively responded to the global market by exhibiting Acteon, which is scheduled to be launched in Korea on 20 August, and introducing it for the first time before the official global launch to gauge the response of overseas dealers and raise expectations.
"KGM is on the upswing, with exports up 11.21 TP3T from last year, which was the best performance in nine years, and Europe is a very important market for us, accounting for 50.31 TP3T (18,428 units) of our total exports," said Jae-sun Kwak, Chairman of KGM. "That's why we wanted to be the first to introduce Acteon to the European market before the official launch in the domestic market."
"Above all, Germany was chosen for its technological prowess, as well as its strong influence on neighbouring markets as Europe's largest automotive market, which allows us to communicate directly with the local community and develop strategies and products tailored to European customers," he said.
The European sales subsidiary located in Frankfurt is the second direct overseas subsidiary after Australia, and will begin full-scale operations from September this year, and through a comprehensive business system ranging from local marketing to sales, customer care and service, the company plans to prioritise the German market with a differentiated marketing strategy that includes active communication and cooperation with dealers, as well as the sequential launch of new vehicles.
KGM expects to be able to manage its brand image in Europe through the operation of a direct sales office in Europe, as well as to carry out consistent and effective marketing in terms of sales strategies.
