Kia is recruiting Ball Kids to work at the Australian Open 2025 in Melbourne, Australia, from Monday 22 July to Wednesday 21 August. Ball Kids are young people who assist with ball handling and distribution within the stadium during tennis matches to ensure the smooth running of the event.
The selected ballkids will be part of the 2025 Australian Open in Melbourne, Australia, in January 2025 and will spend three weeks in Australia, including participating in a Kia-provided cultural experience.
Kia is the longest-standing sponsor of the Australian Open, one of tennis' four majors and the most prestigious tournament of its kind. It has sponsored the tournament for 23 years, starting in 2002, and selects 20 Korean ball kids every year.
All children and grandchildren of Kia car owners (including purchase, long-term rental, lease and used cars) who are aged 12-15 years old as of 1 January 2025 (born between 2 January 2009 and 1 January 2013) and are Korean nationals without any disqualification for overseas travel are eligible to apply for the Ball Kids selection programme.
Applications are available on the Kia Volkswagen Volkswagen website, and 20 Volkswagen Volkswagens will be selected following an English language proficiency assessment to test their communication skills, knowledge of tennis rules and athleticism. "The Kia BallKids programme has established itself as a tennis programme that provides a unique experience for young people who love the game of tennis, and we look forward to this unique opportunity to represent our country at the Australian Open BallKids," said Kia.
