Kia is launching a service in North America that allows customers to customise the look of their instrument cluster and infotainment displays. In advance of the start of the National Basketball Association (NBA) playoffs, Kia has launched 30 display-themed designs for each NBA franchise.
Display Themes is a customisation service that enables a personalised car experience. You can change the colours and graphics of the cluster and infotainment displays, the animations that appear when you turn the ignition on and off, and more to suit your preferences. Through the Kia Connect Store and over-the-air (OTA) software updates, you can purchase your favourite NBA team's display theme and apply it to your in-car display.
The display theme was first introduced on the EV9 in North America on the 9th of this month (local time), and will be expanded in Korea later this year, focusing on cars equipped with the next-generation infotainment system ccNC and over-the-air software update function.
Kia developed the display themes to accelerate its transition to software-driven vehicles (SDVs) and broaden product selection to provide a personalised car experience tailored to customer preferences.
"With the launch of Display Themes, customers will be able to personalise their cars even after purchase," said Pablo Martinez, Managing Director of Kia's CXD division. "We will continue to introduce more themes, innovative brand collaborations and leading digital features in the future."
