Kia has released a development video of its new Authentic pickup, raising expectations for the finished product.
Kia today released a teaser for "One More Round," a film series that follows the development of the brand's first authentic pickup, The Kia Tasman. One More Round showcases Tasman's adventurous spirit of "challenging ourselves to exceed higher standards every day," and takes viewers behind the scenes of Tasman's development.
Tasman has undergone 1,777 tests, including off-road-specific performance tests such as Rock and Sand modes, durability tests, Ride & Handling (R&H) tests, trailing stability tests, and Doha tests, with a cumulative total of 18,000 tests at the time of filming the One More Round video (May 2024).
Kia will release a series of One More Rounds, including an off-road test, a Doha test, a track test, an Australian road test for durability and regional optimisation, and interviews with development researchers, starting today (Monday 22nd) and continuing through October. Kia will hold a world premiere event in the second half of the year to fully unveil the Tasman to the public for the first time in the world, and will gradually launch and sell it in Australia, Africa and the Middle East markets, starting with Korea in the first half of 2025.
"The Tasman is a car that Kia has been preparing for a very long time," said Hee-won Yang, President of Hyundai-Kia R&D Headquarters, "and we are confident that it will live up to the title of first, as we have done our best to prepare it in all areas of the lab."
The teaser video for The Kia Tasman One More Round series is available on the Kia Worldwide and Kia TV YouTube channels and the brand's website.
