MINI Korea will open pre-bookings for the new all-electric MINI Cooper, the fourth generation of the all-new model, via the MINI Shop online from 1 April at 3pm.
The new all-electric MINI Cooper marks the first full model change in 10 years since the third-generation MINI Cooper was launched in 2014 and marks a new beginning for the MINI brand as it transitions to all-electricity. It has evolved into the most progressive all-electric car to date, with a minimalist design, a revolutionary digital experience, longer range and the brand's signature go-cart filling.
Inside and out, the new all-electric MINI Cooper retains the core of the MINI brand identity while maximising the sense of minimalism. The exterior features flush door handles and smooth body surface design for a contemporary look. At the same time, it retains MINI's distinctive body proportions, classic round headlights, octagonal grille and rear lamps in the shape of the Union Jack, in keeping with its design heritage.
The interior has also evolved into a more streamlined and refined look. The biggest highlight is the central display in the centre of the dashboard. A first for the automotive industry in collaboration with Samsung Display, the circular OLED display delivers crisp, vivid image quality and responsiveness for a smartphone-like experience.
The central display integrates the instrument cluster, navigation, climate control and in-car infotainment functions, and is powered by MINI's latest MINI Operating System 9 operating system, which includes T-MAP-based navigation for Korean MINIs, in-car gaming features, video streaming services and third-party apps.
The interior also emphasises its minimalist appeal, with a clean, uncluttered dashboard, iconic MINI toggle bar reflecting the heritage of the classic Mini, and a three-spoke sports steering wheel with textile straps.
The new all-electric MINI will be powered by an electric motor with a maximum output of 218 hp and 33.7 kg-m of torque, and will have a range of 290 to 320 km on a full charge (before domestic certification, the WLTP range is 402 km per charge). The new all-electric MINI will be available in two trims, 'Classic' and 'Favoured', with an expected price of KRW 52 million to KRW 57 million depending on the trim. In addition to the all-electric model, the company plans to launch an internal combustion engine model after June.
