The customer handover ceremony for the first Araxis 15 tonne 6×4 dumper series, for which Daimler Trucks Korea supplied the basic chassis and Hankook Commercial Trucks was responsible for certification and load box installation, took place at the Mercedes-Benz Osan Service Center on 18th April.
At the handover ceremony, Daimler Trucks Korea's Executive Vice President of Sales Dong-Hyun Oh, Executive Vice President of Product Planning and Marketing Won Lee and Vice President of Commercial Trucks Korea Geum-Hwan Koh handed over an ARAX Dump 2843K 6×4 to Jung Kwang-Hyun, the first buyer of the ARAX 15-tonne dump 6×4 series, to mark the launch of the first joint venture vehicle and to promote win-win development through cooperation between the two companies.
The collaboration is part of Daimler Trucks Korea's strategy to grow together with the domestic speciality vehicle industry. Last year, in collaboration with Seogwang Specialty, the company launched the ARAX Cebu model with a 10.2 metre cargo box, which was well received in the domestic truck market. Going forward, Daimler Trucks Korea will continue to expand its line-up of co-operation models in a shared role with Korea Commercial Trucks.
"This collaboration is significant because we are the first imported premium commercial vehicle to pioneer the 15-tonne dump market in Korea with Korea Commercial Trucks, the country's leading specialist," said Antonio Landazzo, Managing Director of Daimler Trucks Korea. "Starting with the ARAX 15-tonne 6×4 dump series and gradually expanding our specialist product portfolio, we see many opportunities for both companies to develop through organic cooperation with Korea Commercial Trucks."
The Mercedes-Benz ARAX 15 tonne dump 6×4 series is the only premium 15 tonne dump truck in Korea. It is available in three models - the 2835K 6×4 Entry, 2843K 6×4 Standard and 2843K 6×4 Premium - to meet the needs of price-conscious customers who drive long distances and perform repetitive tasks. They perfectly embody Mercedes-Benz Trucks' innovative transport efficiency concept, Road Efficiency.
The three AEROX 15 tonne dumpers are equipped with a hub reduction gearbox for superior off-road capability. They also feature advanced performance and safety features, including high-performance engine brakes with up to 460 hp of braking power and Active Brake Assist 5 (ABA 5), a pedestrian-aware automatic emergency braking system.
In addition, the Standard and Premium models deliver a powerful 428 hp peak output and 214 kg-m peak torque. In addition, the trucks are equipped with Mercedes-Benz Trucks' signature comfort features, such as a multimedia cockpit with a fully digital display, multi-touchscreen and infotainment (Premium model only), for safer and more efficient operation.
The ARAX 15-tonne 6×4 dump series can be purchased at Hankook Commercial Truck Osan (031-665-0076) and the basic chassis can be serviced at authorised Mercedes-Benz Trucks service centres nationwide.
