For the first time ever, Range Rover and the Wimbledon Championships, the world's oldest and most established tennis tournament, have formed an official partnership.
The Wimbledon Championships, an iconic part of the British summer, is a prestigious Grand Slam event watched by millions of people around the world, and in 2024, Range Rover will support the event for the first time as an official vehicle partner. The switch from Jaguar, the previous Official Partner, to Range Rover marks more than a decade of JLR's support for the Wimbledon Championships.
With more than 50 years of evolution, Range Rover continues to lead the industry with the most luxurious SUVs ever created. This is underpinned by Range Rover's breathtaking modernity, unrivalled refinement and unrivalled performance. Later this year, Range Rover will unveil its first pure electric vehicle.
The new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) models will be used to transport athletes, teams and officials to official venues during the Games. On-site charging facilities will be used to maximise the pure electric range of the Range Rovers, which have a pure electric range of up to 75 miles (120.7 km).
Reducing emissions is a key element of Wimbledon's green pledge. The recently completed on-site charging infrastructure at the Indoor Tennis Centre not only uses renewable energy but also has the capacity to accommodate more hybrid and electric vehicles, bringing the All England Club a step closer to its 2030 carbon neutrality target.
"The Wimbledon Championships is an iconic British cultural event watched by millions of people around the world, so it's a great opportunity for Range Rover to engage with a global audience through creative storytelling," said Geraldine Ingham, Managing Director, Range Rover. "Not only does it perfectly capture the luxury and sophistication of Range Rover, but it also demonstrates the synergy between two modern luxury brands - Range Rover and Wimbledon."
Deborah Jevans, President of the All England Club, said: "We are delighted to continue our longstanding partnership with JLR with the announcement of Range Rover as our official vehicle partner. We are particularly pleased to see the inclusion of a number of PHEVs, which are capable of travelling in EV mode as much as possible and have low emissions. This is another step towards the All England Club's goal of achieving carbon neutral operations by 2030."
The Wimbledon Championships will take place from 1-14 July at the All England Lawn Tennis Club.
