The Genesis brand launched the Genesis Track Taxi Nordschleife at the Nürburgring in Germany today (21st). Track Taxi is a programme that allows customers to ride in a car driven by a professional driver (instructor) on a driving track to experience various driving conditions and extreme performance.
The Genesis Track Taxi Nordschleife can accommodate up to three passengers per car, and passengers can enjoy a high-speed ride around the 20.8-kilometre Nürburgring track for around eight to 10 minutes.
The Genesis Track Taxi Noord-Schleife is part of the Magma programme, which was first unveiled in New York in March as part of Genesis' expansion into the high-performance arena. The G70 3.3T has been tuned for high performance on the circuit and is fitted with Michelin's Pilot Sport 4S high-performance sports tyres to operate as a track taxi. The G70 3.3T Track Taxi's rigid body provides excellent driving stability even at high speeds, as well as precise handling and dynamic power delivery. It has a maximum power output of 370 hp and maximum torque of 52.0 kg-m and a top speed of 270 km/h.
The exterior colour is orange, the signature colour of the Genesis Magma. Genesis expects the orange colour of the G70 to make a strong statement against the lush greenery of the Nürburgring.
The Nürburgring, known as the "Green Hell" for its gruelling course, is a motor circuit located in the Nürburgring district of Nuremberg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is divided into the 20.8-kilometre Nordschleife in the north and the 5.1-kilometre GP-Strecke in the south. The Nordschleife, where the Genesis Track Taxi operates, is known for its narrow road width, 73 corners and 300 metres of elevation change, making it a harsh and thrilling course.
"The 'Genesis Track Taxi Noord-Schleife' is an important milestone in our journey to deliver Genesis high-performance models, and the customer experience we will gain from this programme will help us to further develop Genesis performance," said a Genesis spokesperson.
Prior to the launch of the programme, Genesis hosted an opening event at the Nürburgring in Germany today (18 June), attended by Luke Donkerwolke, Chief Design Officer and Chief Creative Officer of Hyundai Motor Group Global Design Headquarters, and Genesis brand partner and F1 legendary driver Jackie Ickx.
Meanwhile, Genesis will make the world's first driving demonstration of the GV60 Magma Concept and G80 EV Magma Concept at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the UK's largest motoring festival, from 11 to 14 November next month. Founded in 1993, Goodwood brings together high-performance sports cars, luxury cars, classics and other rare and valuable automobiles and star drivers, and is nicknamed the 'motor show in motion' because of the opportunity to see the cars in action.
