Toyota Korea held a 'GR RACING CLASS' for Toyota GR customers at Inje Stadium on the 6th of this month.
The GR Racing Class, now in its seventh year, is an event organised by Toyota Motor Corporation of Korea to expand the scope of motorsport and contribute to the revitalisation of racing culture. Customers of Toyota GR models such as GR Supra and GR86, as well as F and F Sport, RC and LC models, which are Lexus' high-performance models, have been able to experience driving on a racing circuit with their own cars, and the event has received great response every year.
This year, we enhanced the motorsport-related driving education and increased the driving time on the circuit to improve customer satisfaction. All customers who participated in the event received theoretical driving technique training and circuit driving training to ensure safe driving at the Inje Speedway, and experienced basic driving courses such as corner braking, lane change, and slalom. Afterwards, they received one-on-one coaching with a professional driving instructor, and completed a full-scale advanced driving course such as fox hunting, gymkhana, and circuit safari to experience the joy of driving.
Toyota Korea also held the inauguration ceremony for the first batch of "TEAM GR Supporters" alongside the GR Racing Class. The first batch of 12 TEAM GR Supporters, who were selected in March, will be divided into a new media team and a field operations team until December to carry out various missions to promote the appeal of domestic motorsport and the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing brand.
"We want more customers to experience the joy of driving with the intense performance of the Toyota GR," said Dae-Hwan Kang, Vice President of Toyota Korea. "We will continue to create opportunities for customers to experience the GR brand more directly and meet their diverse needs."
Meanwhile, Toyota Korea has been participating in the CJ Logistics Super Race Championship Super 6000 Class as a body sponsor since 2020 with the exterior design of the GR Supra to spread motorsport culture. This year, the company has signed another contract with the Super Race as a body sponsor and will run a branded one-make race, the PRIUS PHEV Class, starting with the opening race of the Super Race on the 20th of this month.
