Volkswagen Korea's all-electric SUV, the ID.4, sold 351 units in March (according to the Korea Association of Imported Motor Vehicles), marking its presence in this year's electric vehicle market, which has been in full swing since the subsidy was finalised.

Considering that the 2024 EV subsidy criteria were finalised at the end of February and the EV market only really kicked off in March, the ID.4's sales of 351 units (based on KAIDA's best-selling cars by fuel), the highest of any European branded EV sold domestically, is a notable achievement.

"Achieving these sales in March, the first month of electric vehicle sales, is a testament to the ID.4's outstanding product offering," said Shin Dong-hyeop, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Volkswagen Korea. "With its outstanding performance, seamless driving texture and attractive price, the ID.4 is building a strong position in the imported electric vehicle market."

The ID.4 was developed from the outset to be the flagship Volkswagen car of the electrification era, joining the Beetle and the Golf, and is the epitome of Volkswagen's e-technology.

It delivers long range and high energy efficiency, which are key considerations when purchasing an electric vehicle, to reduce vehicle operating and charging costs. It offers a long driving range of 421 km (451 km in the city and 384 km on the highway) on a single charge, with an energy consumption efficiency of 4.9 km/kWh (5.3 km/kWh in the city and 4.5 km/kWh on the highway, Class 3).

Add to that a subsidy of KRW 4.92 million, the largest among imported passenger electric vehicles, and you have an attractive price tag of KRW 40 million.

In addition, it is highly appreciated by domestic customers for its ability to maximise the advantages of electric vehicles while providing a smooth driving texture. The abundance of advanced safety and convenience features is also an important factor in the car's popularity with domestic customers.

Volkswagen's state-of-the-art driving assistance system 'IQ. Drive', and the intelligent interactive lighting system 'IQ. Light-LED Matrix headlamps' ensure the best possible visibility in the dark.

In addition, the ID.4 is generously equipped with comfort features that are highly favoured by Korean consumers, such as a panoramic glass roof, independently controlled 3-zone Klimatronic automatic air conditioning, heat pump and Air River View (360° view camera), contributing to its popularity.
