Volkswagen's new Touareg is now on pre-order, priced from £1,999,000

Volkswagen Korea will open pre-contracting for the new Touareg, its flagship SUV with significant product enhancements, today. The official launch is next month.

The culmination of Volkswagen's technology and know-how, the Touareg has redefined the standard for premium SUVs in every generation since its debut in 2002. The new Touareg is now in its third generation, with a stylish new exterior design and a host of new safety and comfort features that make it an even more compelling proposition.

The exterior of the new Touareg has been completely redesigned. The new front LED light strip, radiator grille and front bumper design have been upgraded with a sporty black colour scheme. The new Touareg's signature front design is completed by the brand's first IQ.Lite HD Matrix headlights with a '3 Eyes' design.

At the sides, a new side skirt design (with R-Line) emphasises the body's three-dimensional shape, while at the rear, the Touareg's presence is enhanced by a new design of LED area combination lamps, which combine a horizontal line of LEDs running through the tailgate with six L-shaped LEDs.

The new Touareg is the brand's first to feature IQ.Light HD Matrix Headlights, an intelligent lighting system that incorporates all of Volkswagen's most advanced technologies and is even more advanced. In total, more than 38,000 interactive LEDs synthesise information from driving speed, navigation, GPS, cameras and other sources to provide optimised lighting for the driving situation, including a particularly advanced technology that partially illuminates the road without obstructing the view of other drivers on the road.

Inside, the Innovision Cockpit is the epitome of intuitive digital interfaces, with a 12-inch digital cockpit, 15-inch MIB3 infotainment system and head-up display. The DYNAUDIO Consequence sound system from Danish premium audio is also standard on all trims. Soft door closing and rear door curtains are available on all trims to further enhance occupant comfort.

IQ.Drive, Volkswagen's most advanced driver assistance system, is also standard across all trims. It helps you drive comfortably and safely with features such as ACC, Front Assist, Lane Assist, Side Assist and Travel Assist, including Forward Cross Traffic Assist, which warns you of blind spots or brakes in an emergency when driving through junctions.

Under the bonnet is a V6 3.0-litre diesel turbo (EA897 evo3 TDI) engine that combines power and efficiency. It features an innovative 'TwinDosing Technology' system with two Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) units. Combined with an all-wheel drive system and an eight-speed automatic transmission, it produces a peak power output of 286 hp and a maximum torque of 61.2 kg-m.

The 'Air Suspension' and 'All Wheel Steering' systems provide the ultimate in performance and stability, both on and off-road. The newly added 'Roof Load Sensor', in combination with the body control system and advanced drivetrain, helps to improve driving stability and deliver more dynamic performance.

The new Touareg is priced from £10.99 million for the Prestige and £16.99 million for the R-Line (including VAT). Customers will receive a 5-year/150,000 km warranty and the 'Total Care Service for Accident Repairs', which covers up to five co-payments for insurance repairs at authorised service centres. Customers who trade-in their existing car will receive an additional KRW 3 million and those who purchase a new Volkswagen will receive KRW 1.5 million.

Volkswagen Korea is offering special finance offers to celebrate the official launch of the new Touareg in Korea. Customers can choose between a guaranteed residual value promotion or a 60-month finance offer when purchasing the new Touareg Prestige model through Volkswagen Financial Services.

With the Guaranteed Residual Value promotion, customers can purchase the Touareg for as little as £840 per month after a down payment of £301 TP3T (£293,890), or £1.3 million per month after a down payment of £301 TP3T with the 60-month finance plan. Volkswagen Financial Services also offers Body & Parts Protection, which covers one-time repair costs for damage to the exterior body, windscreen, side mirrors and tyres within one year or 20,000 km.
