Toyota Motor Corporation of Korea has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with 13 universities and high schools nationwide for the TOYOTA Technical Experience Programme (T-TEP), an industry-university-education programme to foster human resources, and donated 17 educational vehicles.
T-TEP is Toyota Motor Corporation of Korea's social contribution to foster human resources in the automotive industry, and the agreement has been in place since 2020. The T-TEP programme consists of ▲ technical training related to Toyota and Lexus electrification, ▲ introduction to brand philosophy and customer satisfaction services, ▲ training for outstanding students at Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan, ▲ provision of textbooks for schools, and ▲ internship opportunities at dealerships and job counselling in cooperation with local dealers.
The T-TEP signing ceremony was held at the Toyota Training Academy, located in Bojeong-dong, Giheung-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, in the presence of Toshiyuki Nakahara, Vice President of Toyota Motor Corporation of Korea, and representatives from 13 universities and high schools. Toyota signed business agreements to operate the programme with eight universities and five high schools nationwide, including Daelim University, Dongwon University of Science and Technology, Busan University of Science and Technology, Seoyoung University (Paju and Gwangju campuses), Seojeong University, Ajou University of Automobile, Youngnam University of Science and Technology, Korea Polytechnic University (Namdaegu and Busan campuses), Gyeonggi Automotive Science High School, Dongil Industrial High School, Busan Automotive High School, Songshan High School, and Yeosu Industrial High School.
The signing of the agreement was accompanied by a donation ceremony to deliver educational vehicles for the development of human resources in the automotive industry. A total of 17 vehicles, including Lexus ES 300h and UX 300e, Toyota RAV4 PHEV and Prius, were donated to T-TEP colleges and high schools.
After the signing ceremony, the delegation also toured the Toyota Training Academy, which was relocated from Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, to Bojeong-dong, Giheung-gu, Yongin, on the 4th of this month. The Toyota Training Academy provides various trainings for all Toyota and Lexus dealers and employees of Toyota Motor Korea, as well as theoretical and practical training specific to each division, including service and sales.
"We hope that this MOU and the donation of vehicles will help T-TEP students grow into excellent human resources in the automotive industry," said Toshiyuki Nakahara, Vice President of Toyota Motor Corporation of Korea. "Toyota Motor Corporation of Korea will strive to ensure that the programme continues, including brand education and electrification technology training."
In addition to the T-TEP, which fosters talent in the automotive sector, Toyota Motor Corporation is focusing on various social contribution activities to foster talent. It is actively engaged in social contribution activities to become a beloved corporate citizen, such as the Sejong Dream Tree Orchestra, which sponsors cultural education for children and youth from low-income families, and the Lexus Creative Masters, which discovers emerging Korean craft artists.
