Mantruck Bus Korea ('Mantruck') held the '2024 MAN Ausbildung 2nd Graduation Ceremony' at Take Hotel in Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi-do, on the 6th of this month. The event was attended by eight graduates, their families, key officials from the Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI), Mantruck employees and service centre representatives.
The event featured a variety of programmes, including the presentation of MAN technician certificates, a foot-washing ceremony where graduates personally washed the feet of their families to express their gratitude, and a talk concert that combined various events. In particular, the talk concert, which was held for the first time, attracted a lot of attention as graduates shared their stories of becoming professional technicians after years of hard work.
After completing the three-year curriculum, a total of eight graduates of the second batch of Ausbildung will work at Mantruck service centres across the country, including the Yongin Service Centre in Gyeonggi Province, Sejong Service Centre in Sejong Province, Osan Service Centre in Gyeonggi Province, and Incheon Service Centre in Incheon Province, to develop their skills as commercial vehicle technicians.
Implemented by Mantruck since 2018, Ausbildung is a German work-study programme that trains professional technicians in close cooperation between companies and schools. After a rigorous screening process, the selected candidates complete three years of a solid curriculum that combines practical training at the company site with theoretical training at the university, as well as military service.
Mantruck's Ausbildung programme, with its structured training and solid support, has attracted a lot of attention for its ability to develop professional technicians and put them to work immediately after graduation.
"We are proud of the eight second-year graduates who have successfully completed the curriculum in the highly technical and system-demanding field of commercial vehicle maintenance," said Peter Andersson, President of Mantruck Bus Corporation. "Mantruck will continue to work closely with the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry to play a pivotal role in the training of professional technicians."
Since signing an MOU with the Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI) for the Ausbildung Programme in 2018, Man Truck has recruited and trained a total of 63 trainees since the first batch, of which 17 technicians who graduated from the programme have been officially deployed to service centres nationwide to provide professional maintenance services.
