From 24 July to 17 August, Harley-Davidson Korea completed a 4,000-kilometre Route 66 cross-country ride from the east to the west of the United States.
Route 66 is the first transcontinental highway in the United States, built in 1962 and spanning a total of 3,940 kilometres, starting in East Chicago and ending in Santa Monica, Los Angeles. It remains a symbol of the challenges faced by Americans and immigrants during the Wild West, but it's a road that has fallen into disuse in favour of newer highways. However, Route 66 continues to attract interest as a tourist destination for travellers fascinated by the nostalgia and uniquely American sensibility of the past.
Harley-Davidson is all about challenge. Naturally, domestic Harley-Davidson riders also dream of crossing Route 66, a symbol of challenge for Americans. In response to this need, the 2024 Tour of America is designed to provide customers with a unique brand experience and live the Harley-Davidson spirit of challenge.
To complete Route 66, riders will have to overcome a variety of conditions, including high altitudes, showers, deserts and canyons. To make this possible, Harley-Davidson Korea's employees have provided support through experienced road captains and expert mechanics. "With a veteran rider guiding the way and an expert Harley-Davidson Korea mechanic on hand, I was able to focus on the challenge without worrying about anything," said one participant in the US tour.
The tour team also took part in the Harley-Davidson Homecoming Festival in Milwaukee, home of Harley-Davidson's headquarters. The event was organised to celebrate the 121st anniversary of the company and was a great reminder of the challenge for the participants.
One of the newlyweds who participated in the tour said, "We wanted to experience a special challenge together as we embark on a new life of marriage." "The 2024 Harley-Davidson Korea US Tour has given us new memories and the strength to live our lives well in the future," he said.
