Volvo Cars Korea XC40 Dark Edition goes on sale online and sells out in '4 minutes'!

Volvo Cars Korea's XC40 Dark Edition sold out within four minutes of going on sale online.

Following the XC40 Sage Green Edition in July and the S60 Dark Edition in October last year, which sold out in three and nine minutes respectively, the XC40 Dark Edition sold out in four minutes, proving once again the Swedish luxury brand's popularity in the import market. The XC40, in particular, has been highly popular since its launch in 2018, and while it takes about six months for a new XC40 to be delivered, the XC40 Dark Edition is available immediately, making it a great opportunity for customers who have been waiting to purchase an XC40.

Since its global debut in 2017, Volvo's XC40 has set new standards in the compact SUV market. In 2018, it was named European Car of the Year for the first time in the brand's history, and since 2020, it has been the number one selling premium compact SUV in Europe for four consecutive years.

Based on the top-of-the-range Ultimate Dark trim, the new XC40 Dark Edition features a single colour exterior of Onyx Black with a high-gloss black design on the radiator grille, front and rear skid plates and roof rails. The 20-inch 5-double-spoke black diamond-cut wheels, which are different from the original 19-inch wheels, further emphasise the car's distinctive design. The exclusive key cases for the blond leather and black leather Dark Edition also showcase Volvo's distinctive sensibility.

Among other things, the XC40 is equipped with luxurious comfort features not often found in this class, such as Drift Wood, Swedish Orrefors® crystal gearknob, Harman Kardon sound system and advanced air purification system. Volvo's safety heritage is also evident in the XC40, with a top-of-the-range safety package based on the latest Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), comprising an array of radar, camera and ultrasonic sensors.

In particular, the 'Integrated T-MAP Infotainment Service 2.0', which is the highest quality in Korea, is based on Seoul's next-generation intelligent transportation system (C-ITS) and supports real-time signal information and residual signal time, connected driving services that can check the appropriate speed of passing through intersections, and 'personalised routine setting' that integrates and executes various functions according to your lifestyle. It also comes with 15 years of free over-the-air (OTA) updates and a five-year subscription to a digital service package to make your journey smarter.

"We are grateful for the interest in the XC40 Dark Edition, which includes all of Volvo's packages, including state-of-the-art safety and comfort features, and black details," said Yoon Mo Lee, President and CEO of Volvo Cars Korea. "We will continue to offer a variety of limited edition models with Volvo's unique sensibility and appeal."
