GM participated as an official sponsor in the '26th Korea National Hog Rally', held at the Taebaek Sports Complex in Taebaek, Gangwon-do, from 24th to 26th of this month, marking a successful collaboration between the leading American automotive and motorcycle brands.
The Hog Rally is an annual event for members of the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.™), the world's largest motorcycle club with more than one million members worldwide, and has grown to become the largest motorcycle festival in Korea since 1999, attracting thousands of Harley-Davidson owners each year. This year's event, now in its 26th year, was another success with more than 2,000 attendees.
GM's collaboration with Harley-Davidson to participate in the Hog Rally for the second year in a row and expand the product experience for domestic customers is a collaboration that brings together two authentic American brands with a century-long heritage and a shared goal of providing customers with a broader range of products and lifestyle experiences.
"The Hog Rally event, a collaboration between GM and Harley-Davidson, two iconic American automotive and motorcycle brands, is a great opportunity for us to showcase our authentic American brand and the sheer presence and power of our full-size product line-up to our customers," said Myung Ok Yoon, Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Communications, GM Korea.
GM had a joint GMC and Cadillac booth at the event and conducted on-site marketing activities. The models on display were the GMC Sierra and Cadillac Escalade. GMC's booth was themed around the outdoors and the tea + picnic lifestyle, while Cadillac's booth was reminiscent of an American metropolis, emphasising its off-road and on-road appeal, respectively.
In addition, the on-site test drive programme, which allowed customers to experience the Sierra and Escalade first-hand, was well received by participants, showcasing the unparalleled value of these authentic American full-size SUVs and pickup trucks and their rich heritage of over 120 years. In addition, a 'Power Hammer Event' was held for on-site consultation customers, offering various prizes and promoting the powerful performance of the GMC Sierra and Cadillac Escalade.
Meanwhile, the GMC Sierra is GMC's flagship model that has evolved through five generations since its launch in 1987, and was the first full-size pickup truck to be officially launched in Korea. From the recently launched 2024 model year, the Sierra has been equipped with an 'Active Variable Exhaust System' that allows you to enjoy the exhaust sound of a V8 engine and a wireless smartphone charging system as standard, making it a more complete product. The Cadillac Escalade is the fifth generation of the Cadillac brand's flagship SUV and is synonymous with luxury full-size SUVs that offer the best ride quality, performance, materials, and reliability as a top-of-the-line model for VIPs.
