At the press conference, Kia introduced the EV5 Long Range, a mid-size electric SUV, through a musical showcase that tells the story of a customer's car-buying journey. The musical was based on the experiences of real EV5 owners, introducing the superior productivity of Kia's electric vehicles. It was based on the high productivity that considers both convenience and safety, as well as the quality of the EV5, which was experienced while driving about 5,500 kilometres on mountainous roads in Tibet, China.
The EV5 is the first EV to be produced locally in China on the E-GMP platform. The EV5 is available in three configurations in China: Standard 2WD and Long Range 2WD-AWD. The Long Range 2WD model features an 88.1-kilowatt-hour battery with a range of 720 kilometres per charge at China CLTC.
