BMW Korea has officially launched the New 530e, a plug-in hybrid version of the New 5 Series, in Korea.The BMW New 530e is a premium plug-in hybrid (PHEV) sedan that combines the efficiency of a hybrid powertrain with the environmental friendliness of a pure electric vehicle. In particular, it has improved its overall productivity compared to the previous generation model, which was well-received in the market due to its moderate sales volume.The new 530e has increased its performance starting with the electric motor. It is equipped with an electric motor with a peak power of 184 hp, which is 631 TP3T higher than the previous generation, and is combined with a petrol turbo engine with a peak power of 190 hp for a combined peak power of 299 hp. It can travel up to 140 km/h on electric power alone.
The range in electric mode has also been increased. The 18.7-kilowatt-hour battery provides a range of up to 73 kilometres on a single charge. The fuel tank capacity has been increased to 60 litres, enabling a range of up to 751 kilometres on a full tank of battery and fuel, with a combined fuel consumption of 15.9 km/l.In addition, the new BMW 530e features the same air suspension on the rear axle as the i5 for agile driving performance and a comfortable ride, and the same 520 litres of boot space as the petrol and diesel models.The BMW New 530e comes standard with the BMW Kidney Iconic Glow in the Radiator Grille, BMW Interaction Bar, Merino leather, crystal upholstery and a Harman Kardon hi-fi sound system, as well as luxury features such as comfort seats, four-zone air conditioning, Driving Assistant Professional and Parking Assistant Plus.
