BMW Korea Future Foundation to run mobile junior campus at Korea Science Festival 2024

The BMW Korea Future Foundation will host a mobile junior campus at the Korea Science Festival 2024, which will take place from 25 to 28 April at Expo Civic Square and Expo Science Park in Daejeon.

The Mobile Junior Campus, a major social contribution project of the BMW Korea Future Foundation, is an 11.5-tonne truck converted into a laboratory that visits elementary schools and child welfare facilities in all regions of the country, except for the Seoul metropolitan area and Jeju Island, to provide free high-quality science and creative education to children in grades 3 to 6. The mobile junior campus has also been participating in various public service events as well as in areas that lack educational infrastructure.

At the event, the BMW Korea Future Foundation will be running lab and workshop programmes at the Mobile Junior Campus. Students in the laboratory classes can explore various basic science principles of automobiles through six hands-on facilities, while in the workshop classes, they can understand green energy and build eco-friendly cars using building kits for the future of the global environment.

Visitors who wish to participate can visit the BMW Korea Future Foundation booth during the Science Festival and sign up on the spot.

BMW Korea Future Foundation's mobile Junior Campus was launched in November 2012, and by March 2024, a total of 96,280 students had attended classes. If we add the cumulative number of visitors to the Junior Campus operated by BMW Korea Future Foundation at BMW Driving Centres, a total of 198,563 children have experienced the Junior Campus.

Meanwhile, the Korea Science Festival is the country's leading science festival organised by the Ministry of Science and ICT and Daejeon Metropolitan City. The event will feature science-related exhibitions, lectures, and performances, as well as nightly laser shows and a night market.
