The Genesis Scottish Open 2024, one of Europe's most prestigious events on the DP World Tour's Rolex Series, will kick off at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland.
A total of 156 players from the DP World Tour, the Professional Golf Association of America (PGA Tour) and the Korean Professional Golf Association (KPGA Korean Tour) will compete in the four-day event from Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 July local time.
The tournament will be hotly contested by some of the world's top players, including the winner of the 2023 Genesis Scottish Open, Rory McIlroy (World No.2), as well as Xander Schauffele (World No.3), Ludwig Aberg (World No.4), Wyndham Clark (World No.5) and Viktor Hovland (World No.6).
PGA Tour player Kim Joo-hyung (World No. 16) will also be in action, while 2023 Genesis Championship winner Park Sang-hyun, 2023 Genesis Points Grand Prize winner Ham Jeong-woo and 2023 Genesis Points runner-up Lee Jung-hwan will be Genesis invitees.
The tournament will offer a total prize pool of $9 million and 8,000 ranking points, with the winner taking home $1.4 million in prize money and a GV70 electric model. In addition, the first player and caddie to record a hole-in-one on the 17th hole will be awarded a GV70 electric model and a GV60 respectively.
Genesis is providing 163 Genesis cars to ensure the smooth running of the event. In addition, 12 Genesis cars, including the GV60, will be on display throughout the Renaissance Club to attract visitors to the event.
Genesis will continue to showcase its unique brand philosophy of hospitality to all guests, based on the traditional Korean culture of welcoming 'guests' with a programme of thoughtful consideration for players, caddies, golf fans and partners. The Players & Caddies Cafe, a dedicated rest area for players and caddies during the tournament, will also be expanded from last year.
This year, a new interactive hole-in-one event, the Hole No. 6 Stadium Experience, will give on-site spectators the opportunity to watch players tee off from special seats next to the tee box on the venue's signature hole, No. 6, on a first-come, first-served basis (one spectator per player).
The first player to score a hole-in-one on the 6th hole will receive a GV60 as a prize, and the matching spectator will receive an invitation package to the Genesis Championship in South Korea this October.
In addition, the G80 electric model, GV70 electric model, and GV80 were displayed in the 'Genesis Mobile Lounge' so that visitors could experience the dynamic and elegant charm of Genesis, and ▲ a kinetic lighting structure that moves in various ways in response to swinging movements ▲ a postcard writing event to cheer on the players.
In addition, a photo zone with the Genesis brand and the Renaissance Club landscape will be available near the 14th hole, and collaborations with local music festivals will provide a variety of attractions to help visitors enjoy both the game and the brand experience.
"We provide the best course conditions and care to help the world's top players perform at their best," said Min-Kyu Song, Vice President of Genesis Business Unit. "The number of visitors to our tournaments is growing every year, and this year we have further enhanced the fan experience with the introduction of a new hole-in-one event."
